Hi all,
It has been a shaky year for netball this season. With COVID placing our season on hold for an indeterminate time period. But once we got the go-ahead it was a scramble to get it all up and running. Cosmos wishes to thank all our Members, their families, and all our volunteers who make up Coaches, Committee, and Team Managers for their patience, support, and determination to have a great 2020 netball season.
We placed 13 teams into the Hervey Bay Netball Association competition in 2020, NetSetGo to Divsion 1, welcoming three teams from Bundaberg, whose competition had been cancelled. Two teams joining the Cosmos Club and the third as a sponsored team, playing under our Club banner.
Though it was a short season, a 10 week competition, plus finals. It was a great season, with much cheer, determination, support, and competition. Having our players back on court, though with restrictions in place, gave us back a bit of normality and a reason to smile again. We again thank everyone who followed the rules to keep us all playing the game we love.
Fast forward to October 2020 and the competition games are done and its FINALS time !!
Our teams finished as per below –
- NetSetGo teams Crushers and Crusaders: non – competition division
- Division 10 Cosmos Stars, finished top of their ladder, naming them as 2020 Minor Premiers and a spot in the Semi Finals.
- Division 9 Cosmos Angels, finished fourth, earning a spot in the Semi Finals.
- Division 8 Cosmos Blitz, finished fifth, with their season at a close.
- Division 8 Cosmos Vixens, finished seventh, with their season at a close.
- Division 7 Cosmos Storm, finished fourth, earning a spot in the Semi Finals.
- Division 6 Cosmos Chargers, finished fourth, earning a spot in the Semi Finals.
- Divison 5 Cosmos Bundy Thunder, finished third, earning a spot in the Semi-Finals.
- Division 2 Cosmos Jets, finished fourth, earning a spot in the Semi Finals.
- Div 1 Cosmos Carnage, finished fifth, with their season at a close.
- Div 1 Cosmos Bundy Spice, finished fourth, earning a spot in the Semi Finals.
